This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to conduct operational checks on in-service electrical plant.
Operational maintenance checks need to be undertaken regularly to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all in-service electrical plant in the power generation facility.
Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan, carry out in-service electrical checks on electrical plant and completion of work. Individuals will, in general, work under supervision, in a power generation facility as an operator.
Power generation plant operators are typically trained and authorised to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
